Hi everyone, it’s Riley and welcome back to Riley’s Weekly Verdict!
First, I just want to take a moment to say thank you. The support I got on my very first post last week truly meant so much to me. Starting this blog has been so fun and such an exciting way of expressing myself in different ways. I’m so excited for the opportunity to share my thoughts, experiences, and little pieces of my life with you all. Knowing that people are reading along makes me feel incredibly grateful, and I can’t wait to keep building this space week after week.
This week’s post is all about one of my favorite topics: food! More specifically, my top 4 favorite restaurants in Reno. I consider myself a picky eater so when I find a spot I love, I tend to always go back. Each of these places is amazing to me in its own way and has made Reno feel a little bit more like home.
4. Wild River Grille
Wild River Grille is such a hidden gem. The inside is beautiful and welcoming, the food is amazing, and the location is right by the river. Whether you go for lunch or dinner, you will get a great meal in such a beautiful setting. It’s one of those spots where you can enjoy the food just as much as the scenery.
3. Great Basin Brewery
Great Basin has such a unique look that makes it stand out every time I go. The menu is full of variety, the food is always delicious, and there are so many beers on tap that are very reasonably priced. It has that warm, welcoming vibe where you instantly feel very homey. And if you go, you must get the pretzel; it’s my go-to recommendation and never disappoints.
2. Maria’s in Verdi, Nevada.
Maria’s is more than just a restaurant to me; it’s comfort. I first found this place through my grandparents, who live in Verdi. They go to Maria’s all the time and now I tag along with them any chance I get. Being away from home for college can be tough, but sitting down to a meal here feels like a warm hug. The flavors, the atmosphere, and the care they put into every dish just bring me so much joy, and it is amazing. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel grateful for good food and good company.
1. Mario’s Portofino
Italian food has always been my all-time favorite food, and Mario’s Portofino easily takes the crown for my favorite restaurant in Reno. From the incredible service to the beautiful, cozy atmosphere (and yes, I can’t forget about the free bread haha), this place is truly special. It feels like the perfect spot for anything from celebrating a birthday to enjoying a date night or just treating yourself after a long week. It’s a little more on the fancy side, but every single time it feels so worth it. It is all very reasonably priced as well and is just amazing.
So, there it is my top 4 favorite restaurants in Reno! Writing this blog and being able to share pieces of my life like this is something I’m so thankful for, and I’m beyond excited to keep this going. It is so much fun! I can’t wait to post weekly about so many different things, not just food, but everything I do and love. I have discovered in Reno to make it feel like home.
Thank you again to everyone who read last week’s post and is reading todays. It means so much and I’m so excited for what’s to come!!
Until next week,
Riley
